Garden Bounty

This summer, despite being altogether cold and unfriendly, has still allowed me to produce quite a bounty of colorful vegetables. The only obstacle I have encountered so far is the large insect population. The mild winter weather we had didn't kill the insects and allowed them to start their life cycles earlier than usual.

The result is that larger than average numbers of bugs have been trying to ravage the garden. I have been fighting back with an arsenal of organic sprays and good cultural control. So far I have the upper hand. So far however, there has been nothing I can do about the rampant vole, raccoon and squirrel plunder that occurs every day . . . Sigh . . .
