Well folks, the rumor is true. For months now they have been telling us that snow, BIG snow is in store for us this winter. For those of us who lived through the record breaking snow two years ago, we thought, 'how bad could it really be? Surely not as bad as it was then right?' Well, that remains to be seen. As of right now however, we have about 6" on the ground when this morning only 1-2" was predicted. It seems as though every hour the forecast changes to include more snow.
Oh well, I'm not complaining. Its not often that this part of the maritime Northwest experiences the winter wonderland treatment. I will enjoy it while it lasts. Incidentally it is also supposed to be in the low teens temperature wise. All of the snow is a blessing in that it will cover any sensitive plants like a protective blanket and (hopefully) protect them from the worst of the frost damage. And to think, only yesterday I still had lettuce, kale and roses and dahlias blooming!
