As an epilogue to my Paul Bunyan story, I thought I'd share how we will have to deal with the left over stumps. We purchased this nasty, bio hazard powder from Home Depot that promised to eliminate stumps in as little as 6 weeks. Pfft! We'll see! I never trust those sorts of claims.
It was the directions on the container however, that were so interesting. They directed us to drill three 1" holes in the top of each stump and three corresponding angled down holes in the side (see helpful diagram below). You then pour this noxious, death powder into each hole, put water on it and wait 6 weeks.
Here comes the fun part. You fill the holes with KEROSENE and light the sucker on fire! This is their solution? Burn it to the ground? Does the white powder even do anything except burn your nasal cavity? I have to admit though (and so does Michael) that the inner pyromaniac in me LOVES this method. I get to pour flammable liquid over something and then burn it down? Awesome!
I cannot wait for the 6 weeks to be up. I am anticipating this event almost as much as our anniversary dinner (sad I know). I just hope it works. I am always happy to burn something but I'd hate to have to take a sledgehammer to it afterward. I have already purchased the replacement trees so whether this trial by fire works or not, in one month we will have some new trees in that spot.

I'm pretty sure this deserves a video.. I want to indulge my inner pyromaniac vicariously through you :]
