Late Summer Flowers

Summer is finally winding down (all three weeks of it) and the last few days have been very cloudy and cool. Fall is definitely in the air. I love fall. It is my favorite season . . . its just that I was just getting used to summer and starting to really enjoy it. Now it seems we are back to grey skies for the foreseeable future. Oh well, at least I don't have to water the garden as often.

The other good news is that the garden is still full of flowers and I am enjoying them while they last. Dahlias, anemones, asters, mums, sedum and rudbeckia are the stars of the garden this week. Their cheery color distracts me from the dull sky and makes me happy every time I go outside. Fall may well be here but at least summer's color still lingers.
