Solid Foood

We have slowly begun to introduce William to the world of solid foods. We began with sweet potato, and it was a huge success. Since that first introduction, it has become less poplar unfortunately. We have also introduced baby oatmeal (iron fortified and all that jazz). I mix it with a little water and breast milk, and he loves it! Unfortunately, as I have been reading about a growing baby's iron requirements (two sources in particular have proven helpful toward figuring out the scoop on iron, here and here), I have realized that we need to be feeding him at least 8 tablespoons (2 servings, 4 TBSP each) of this cereal every day to meet his iron requirements.  I pour out one tablespoon of dry cereal, and once its mixed with milk/water, there is about 2 TBSPs in the dish. This is about the max I can get into him in any given day. Therefore, I have thought of several questions to ask of our pediatrician at our 6 month visit (I will update with the answers once I get them):

#1: Is the 8 TBSP requirement alluding to dry cereal, or already made, wet cereal?
#2: When you give the baby a feeding, do you end up replacing a feeding, or do you first feed the baby milk, and then give the baby solids after the feeding?
#3: How am I supposed to feed him all the cereal (with enough iron supplementation) he needs in a given day, plus introduce new foods into his diet, and still have him drinking an appropriate amount of breast milk? 
#4: How many solid meals are you supposed to feed baby per day?
#5: Can you re-use baby food after dipping the spoon into it?
#6: When can I introduce meat (to increase iron intake)?
#7: When should I get William tested for iron levels in his blood?
#8: Is there something I can take to increase the iron levels in my milk?
#9: Do you need to watch for nitrates in carrots? Is there any special way to prepare them that lessens the nitrate risk?
