William 4.6

The other day Will and I were talking about when he grows up. He had asked me if he was going to live in this house forever, and I was telling him that one day he would grow up and get a job and find his own house. And then he might get married and have babies. He agreed that he wanted to have babies but when I asked him about a wife, he told me that he wanted ME to be the wife! LOL! I told him that I would the grandma, not the mommy. He just repeated that he wanted to marry me and have me be the mommy. I thought it was so cute! He also asked if he would be changing Nora's diapers when he was a grown up, and I had to explain to him that when he was a grown up, Nora would be as well. :)

We talk a lot about what being a grown up will be like. He tells me that he will drive an orange SUV (orange and blue are his favorite colors), and talks about living in the house across the street from us (ha!) and says he wants to be anything from a fireman to a construction worker (hes obsessed with heavy equipment and fire trucks). Its interesting to watch this little guy begin to grow up and start to envision his place in the world and start to dream dreams about his future.

Swimming is still going well. He is quite the show off and loves to let go of the sides to show off his swim moves as well as jumping pell mell into the water. Its too bad he doesn't have an ounce of fat on his little body and he just sinks like a stone as soon as he tries to actually swim. Michael tells me the same was true for him as a kid (and is still true to this day apparently), so Will is going to have his work cut out for him, learning to actually swim. We'll get there eventually. I've promised him a trip to a water park as soon as he learns though!

He is an avid little climber (just like his dad was at his age) and any opportunity he gets, will climb to the top of the nearest tree, large bush, ladder, or climbing structure. I have had to rescue him from time to time from limbs trapped in branches, but that is happening less and less as his skills increase and his confidence grows.
